Another vector illustration I created. Hope it's ok. My heart hasn't been speaking to me lately, but I knew it needed some cerise.

It's very important where we entrust our hope to.
The text translates as: "Don't entrust your hope on the bronze snake" which refers to something beautiful which breaks under the strain of our admiration.

Give me some of that!

It is said that yellow is a happy, bright, and uplifting colour, a celebration of sunny days. Furthermore they claim that it aids clear thinking and encourages an optimistic attitude.

I think I could do with some of that(a kiss too), so I made something yellow for a change.

I realised it's been a while since I posted some private design work. This poster I created as a gift to someone.

The art of seeing

Art has this wonderful capacity to make us look at the things we already know and let us feel as though we've never seen it before.
Very often I would hear remarks from people asking why I would revisit a place ("You've already seen it") is the popular reply. The short answer is, no I haven't, because it changes continuously as the light changes and shifts. We tend to forget that fact when we feel so overwhelmed by the mundaness of routine, but we shouldn't. There's truly no one moment alike.

When I go for a hike in the backyard, take a deep breath of fresh air & look around - I realise anew how beautiful it is, different - but still beautiful.

Faces

It feels as though I haven't taken pictures in a while, everywhere I walk I see shadows morphing into negative space imagery. As with many things worth while it asks time. Where's that camera?
I've been sketching meanwhile - faces - have an idea I toggle with to create the sketches into colour with a screen printing finish. Haven't finalised a colour scheme yet, actually I have no idea what I want to use!

Stock photos versus personal

It is rarely when a client realises that stock photography - even though it's of great quality and diversity - is by no means personal or specific to the client's business environment. Therefore I was quite impressed when a current client requested I shoot photo's specific to their design. And of course it was a lot more fun for me to interact with the client and have a little more control of the outcome of the overall image impression.

I also discovered that it creates wonderful opportunities to stumble upon beautiful abstracts. This photo was of course not used, but I couldn't resist not to shoot with those alluring shadows.
